David & Michelle Higgins
David and Michelle
Higgins received Jesus Christ as their Savior as
children. David was born in Palmeston North, New
Zealand and even though he made a commitment to
Christ as a small child, it was when living in
Ridgecrest, California at the age of nine that a
lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ was
confessed. Michelle was at 5 years old when she
received Jesus Christ into her heart in a farm house
near central Washington.
They were married in
1992, six months after graduating from A.I.M. Intern
Program through Life University (Foursquare). They
lived in Yakima, Washington where they served at
Church on the Move as Youth and Music Directors
until coming on staff as Associate Pastors. It was
in February of 1999 that God moved them to San Diego
to assist Pastor Allen Higgins in the work here at
The Life Church. On December 16th 2001 David and
Michelle were given the responsibility of being our
Pastors.
In addition to their
ministry in San Diego they carry a heart for the
mission field. Each year brings more opportunities
in countries such as India, Ukraine, and Zambia,
Africa. These opportunities are also extended to the
Life Church family as we travel together into
foreign lands with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Allen & Beverly
Higgins have been in ministry for the past 45 years.
There ministry has included pioneering churches,
Bible schools, & mission work. Both travel
regularly, speaking at conventions and churches both
in the U.S. and internationally.

Maria Murtha
Pastor Maria passionately loves life and loves
seeing others grow strong and vibrant in God!
After having watched a Billy Graham crusade on TV
one night as a teenager, she welcomed Jesus as her
personal Savior and has not looked back. Now
walking with God for over 30 years, she is a mother
of two adult children, Donny and Vicky who both live
in Texas and enjoys 6 grandchildren whenever she
can, they too are all faithfully serving God.
An active member of TLC for
nine years, she has overseen many events and
departments as needed throughout the years. She is
actively involved with gathering our adult singles
for “Java Night” at Starbucks every Wednesday night;
this is our time to keep our spiritual engines
charged up reflecting on our lives, sharing our
thoughts and encouraging one another. We also meet
up for lunch at a local restaurant one Sunday a
month, and connect with the Single Ladies one
Saturday night once a month at surprising hot
spots.
Maria is also actively involved in assisting our
Pastors by overseeing our Leadership Development
Track and loves teaching in our Children’s Church.
Also, anytime there are major events such as
weddings, funerals, anniversaries and parties; she
is overseeing the décor and hospitality teams.
Coordinating the annual Harvest Festival is her
favorite! She currently represents our church as
an active member of the Christian Community Service
Agency in our community.
